A huge thank you to EVERYBODY who helped out during the days that Storm Emma and the Beast from the East visited us.
The snow, the fierce cold and the strong winds meant that the day services buildings were closed and people were asked by the government to stay at home and be safe indoors. For that to happen staff had to come to work during the heavy snow. Days services staff came to the houses, some residential staff stayed in the houses for extra hours, some people went to family homes, extra food supplies were brought in, bags of salt were delivered and heaters were sent out to every house just in case boilers broke.
Some people even had fun making snowmen. So once again – THANKS. Now we just have to wait for the heating bills to arrive.
And when we thought it was all over, the staff in the LINC centre went to work yesterday only to discover that the whole building was inaccessible. In true community spirit, the LINC team present and the staff from the Autism Initiatives building from across the way worked tirelessly to clear the path and make sure that the people we support could access the buildings to make plans for the rest of their days.Back to blog
