Call for sustainable funding for WALK Louth programme

WALK have been busy lobbying for sustainable funding to continue the great work being done there. During our lobbying bid many politicians did various things to help our cause.

On Thursday 14th July, Gerry Adams TD made a presentation to invited Senators, TD’s and their representatives in Leinster House to give an overview of the programme and the work that WALK Louth do.

There were two participants of the programme, Niamh and Jessica, and their parents who spoke and highlighted the real impact of the programme on their lives.

Senator Frances Black said she was very inspired by Niamh and Jessica so much so that she brought our issue of funding into the Seanad on Thursday afternoon where she spoke from the heart.  You can see her presentation here.

Senator Black has been recently elected to the committees of Justice and Equality within the Oireachtas. She said she will do everything in her power to try to support WALK Louth.
